Simple Tips to Financial Wellness & Living Your Happy
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bank of Hawaii. All opinions are 100% my own.
Financial wellness has been a main priority in our household lately. With Hailey going off to college soon, there is still so much I want to teach her about life and all the things I wished I knew when I was her age. My advice to her is to always think big, follow your dreams, work hard and “Go LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE !” Yes, all things are possible when you believe in yourself, find your passions, and do what you love.
However, financial literacy is also important.
To help us take charge of our financial goals, we just started using the Bank of Hawaii’s online financial wellness center together.
It has given us simple tools to understand things we all should be taught from high school, like budgeting basics, savings solutions, understanding credit, dealing with debt, and retiring well. It’s empowering to understand money and take control of your personal finance.
Here are ways that have helped us better manage money and understand our personal finances:
Check out the Bank of Hawaii Financial Wellness Center to learn the 5 building blocks for financial wellbeing.
Take a Bank of Hawaii online mini masterclass can help give great advice on how to manage your basic finances so you can “Live Your Happy” too.
Learn to create a budget: Distinguishing between "needs" and "wants" will help you live within your means.
Learn savings solutions. Start to create short-term savings goals: Instead of the pressure of intimidating long-term saving goals, create manageable short-term goals, such as setting aside $20 or $50 a week or month.
Understand credit, how to build it and why it matters.
I hope this can help your family LIVE YOUR HAPPY too…….
XOXO,

LIVE YOUR HAPPY!
I live my happy when I am creating and working on new PANCI projects.
I started working in production wardrobe styling and doing makeup almost 15 years ago while building my brand. My small business has grown so much.
If you’re a fellow founder, freelancer, or content creator, you know so much of our time is spent working while mobile and on the computer between emails, invoices, and accounting. A lot of the time, I’m working on the go from wherever I can, whether it’s a makeshift office or a hotel.
Life can get really busy. (Trust me, I get it). So finding simple solutions to help me manage both my personal and business finances is important. Bank of Hawaii’s digital banking makes it so easy and works seamlessly with my on-the-go lifestyle.

Social Media vs. Reality of being a fashion stylist, celebrity makeup artist, and business owner. While I wear many hats, working in the beauty and fashion industry might look all glitz and glam, but there is so much unglamorous work that goes on behind the scenes. The truth is it is always a crazy hustle, and days are very long, and laborious with unpredictable hours and schedules.

Working From Home
This year has been a crazy year full of changes forcing everyone to adapt to a new lifestyle and workflow. With so many people now working from home, it may be hard to find the motivation or keep organized while having to watch the kids or help with online school. Although, it is important that we still maintain a schedule to keep motivated.
Morning Routine
PS Tip #1: Designate time for phone
I usually get up about 7am and spend 15 mins on my phone to look at emails, news and catch up on social etc. This way, I will get my daily dose of social media out of the way first thing in the morning and not constantly reach for it throughout the way. Also by checking email, messages, and news once you wake up, it can help you create a list of things you need to do for the day.
PS Tip #2: Create and master daily routine!
I cannot stress this tip enough! It is extremely important to create a daily routine for yourself and for your kids. By creating a daily schedule, you will be able to keep track of everything you need to do and it gives the kids some structure.
PS Tip #3: Get your body moving!
Use the time you would normally be commuting to work for daily meditation and/or exercise. Stretching and doing yoga in the morning can help you set your intentions for the day and get off to a good start. You can even go on a morning walk or do a little dance workout to wake you up. Make sure that after your morning workout, you get dressed. Shower and dress for the day as if you were going to work. This makes a big difference on how you feel and how productive you are. Another tip is if you are feeling overwhelmed with your work, move your body to release steam and calm your nerves.
What does your workspace look like?
PS Tip #4: Designate a Workspace
Set a designated workspace & create an environment that is functional, keeps you organized and inspired.
WORKSPACE TIPS :
Get rid of any mess and anything distracting.
Have all your supplies and electronics set up.
Personally, everything around me needs to inspire to me
Vision Board, I look at everyday and through the day
Cute Office supplies
Photo of my daughter on my desk
A good chair or seat cushion helps
A Fan helps for the hot days!
Have good lighting. Makes all the difference on your zoom calls.
Also make sure to create a space that you are ok that everyone can see during your virtual meetings.
Productivity
PS Tip #5: Create a Music Playlist
I find that playing chill music throughout the day that helps me focus and stay on task. I like to create my playlists on Spotify and add instrumental music, peaceful piano songs, and chill lofi study beats. PANCI’S SPOTIFY WFH Playlist
PS Tip #6: Make a List (A real one with pen to paper)
Create a to-do list with everything you need to do. Be as detailed as possible when writing your list so you don’t miss anything and that way you feel more productive when you are constantly crossing tasks off. Also, don’t forget to schedule a lunch break. It is extremely important to fuel yourself so you don’t get tired.
PS Tip #7 : Stay Hydrated
Make sure that you have a full water bottle or hydro flask on your desk at all times so that you always have access to water and can drink it throughout the day. If you struggle with drinking water, a good tip is to set a goal of the amount of cups you want to drink and give yourself a tally mark for each cup you drink. My goal is to fill my BOUGIE Water Bottle up six times a day.
PS Tip #8: Treat yourself to a Mid-day meditation for a mental break
My last and final tip is to give yourself a break. It is okay to take a quick break from your work to give your brain a rest. In fact, breaks help with productivity because it keeps you from burning out. I would recommend getting the headspace app on the app store.
The Closet Edit
With so much time spent at home and binge watching The Home Edit on Netflix, I was inspired to do a home edit of my own in my closet. It makes life so much easier and a lot faster to pick out outfits in the morning. Some people may find it intimidating to tackle such a big project, but trust me, it is so worth it in the end. Keep your life organized with my tips below:
Step 1: Remove Clothes and Categorize
Start by removing EVERYTHING from your closet and drawers. Removing all your clothes, whether it’s socks, underwear, shorts, etc. helps you to stay organized and keep an inventory of everything you have. Separate your clothes into categories. For example, put all the shirts together, all the shorts together, and all the skirts together. To make it even more organized, take these different stacks of clothes and sort them by color. This will make it easier to see how much of each type you have and will also expedite the editing stage. Now all your shelves are cleared out and your drawers are empty, this is your opportunity to start fresh. Make sure to wipe down any shelving, give the space a vacuum and relocate stray items that don’t belong in your closet.
Step 2: Edit + Purge Items
Keep. Sell/ Consign. Donate. Trash.
Now comes the editing, the most important step and personally my favorite. Before you begin, plan out a system—think about what’s required for your typical week as well as what you need for workouts, hobbies, and travel or events. Since the contents of your closet will determine your style, this is also a great opportunity to become more intentional about how you present yourself each day. Just because something costs a lot of money or looks good on somebody else doesn’t mean that it is the right fit for you. Think about how you want to look and feel in your clothing and do your best to keep only what you actually use, wear, and love. Once you have created your two piles of clothes you want to keep and clothes you want to purge, you can donate it, trash it, or sell it.
Step 3: Stock up on Supplies
Another essential step to creating a perfectly uniform closet is stocking up on supplies. Think about the aesthetic you want to achieve and pick out items from there. Make sure to make a list before you shop and only invest in what you actually need for your closet makeover project and have a functional system that works for you.
Some closet essentials include:
Uniform hangers. Use the same style and color for a streamlined look. Get rid of all mismatched, wire hangers!
Open bins and baskets for storing scarves, seasonal items, and accessories
Shelf + drawers dividers to keep everything organized & e
Sturdy hooks for handbags, necklaces, and handbags.
Wall mounted shelves to maximize your vertical space.
PS: Tip : Make sure to make a list before you shop and only invest in what you actually need for your closet makeover project and have a functional system that works for you.
Step 4 : Hang + Learn the File Folding System
Now that you edited your clothes, hang all the items going into your closet on your uniformed hangers. I would suggest hanging work tops, dresses, blouses, sweaters, and if you have a pants hanger, pants in your closet. Once that is completed, learn how to fold your extra t-shirts in a trifold.
Step 5: FILE FOLD CLOTHES FOR DRAWER ITEMS
Folding clothes can take a lot of time, but with this quick and easy tutorial, you will be a pro in no time.
Step 6: Create a color system when putting everything back in.
Finally, for the fun part, putting everything back into your closet. Before you hang your clothes up in any order, rearrange them by color. I find it best to go from neutrals, white, grey, black, then following with the colors of the rainbow (ROYGBIV). To be even more organized, rearrange each colored section by the style of clothing starting with spaghetti strap tank tops, then short sleeves, long sleeves, then dresses. By following this last step, you will always know where everything is and goes.

Hair Treatments
Due to hair salons being closed, we don’t have the luxury of going to get our hair cut or dyed every six to eight weeks. This can lead to unhealthy hair, brassy highlights, and a lot of split ends. Not to fear because as your trusted Beauty Guru, I have some tips and tricks to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy and shiny.
Hair Masks and Leave in Conditioners
I love a good hair mask and leave-in conditioner! Depending on what my hair needs at the time, I will do a mask about once a week and especially after I go to the beach.
Hair masks are quick yet highly potent, effective ways to provide your hair with tons of health benefits in less than 20 minutes.
Think of hair masks like high powered hair conditioners, giving your hair benefits like softening and hydrating, a boost to grow, adding shine, and can help to revive your hair color.
Here are some wonderful hair masks that I am currently using and have tried to help nourish, protect, and moisturize my coarse, frizzy, and color-treated hair:

Beauty Bag Edit
We’ve all had that moment when we are rushing to find that right shade of lipstick in our makeup bag only to end up spending five minutes digging through different products. Makeup bags can get unorganized very fast, especially when you have a busy schedule. As a makeup artist, I am always on the go, going from location to location. Over the years, I found that these tips helped me in maintaining an organized beauty bag for my job and personal life:
Tip #1: TAKE EVERYTHING OUT:
The first order of business: Take everything out. "To set yourself up for success in organizing it's important to begin with a clean palette, meaning every last thing must be removed from the drawers, countertops, makeup bags.... "remembering where everything is” IS KEY!
Tip #2: LAY EVERYTHING OUT + CATEGORIZE
Remove every item you own and group them into categories (foundations, powders, eye color, cheek, skincare, liners, lipstick, lipglosses, etc.)
Tip #3: TOSS
All products have a shelf life and go bad! Go ahead and toss anything that looks old because, ew, bacteria. If you're brave enough, do a smell check.
Check product labeling.
Did you know most beauty products have a symbol in the back of its packaging of its shelf life after opening. (Insert Image)
● Products like foundation, primer , skincare are good for up to 12 months.
● Blush, bronzers, powders and eyeshadow can last for up to 1- two years.
● Lipstick is typically good for one year after you've opened it.
● Eye makeup like mascara, liquid eyeliner, glosses should be replaced every three months.
Keeping products in dark cool places keep products lasting longer. Products kept in your car, bag, direct heat, humidity go bad quicker and should be tossed out regularly.
Tip #4: BACKSTOCK
Any duplicates or products you NEVER use should be tossed out or donate a beauty box to a women’s shelter. If you like to stock up on favorites, create a “backstock” drawer or bin. Familiarize yourself with your backstock drawer to prevent yourself from buying the same product again.
Tip #5: CLEAN
Now is the time to wipe down beauty products and makeup bags with alcohol wipes. Wipe down powder, pallets, and lipsticks with dry tissue. Check to see if your lip liners and eyebrow pencils need to be sharpened.
Tip #6: CREATE A ORGANIZATION SYSTEM
Invest in clear drawer dividers. I love acrylic storage systems & clear makeup bags/kits so that I can see everything all at once. The ability to see your entire collection and easily access the products without rummaging through the entire assortment is so important.
I love makeup organizers that have adjustable dividers so that I can organize my makeup as my collection grows or shrinks. Choose storage solutions that make sense in your space and ensure that your daily products remain easily accessible. Stackable drawers & bins help with smaller spaces.
One my favorites is the original beauty box acrylic systems: https://www.instagram.com/originalbeautybox/
Beis Cosmetic Bags.
Tip #7: CREATE A MAKEUP KIT FOR HOME, TO GO, AND BACKSTOCK
Now that you have everything organized, you can create smaller makeup bags for your house, when you are on the go, and for your backstock items.
